Scholarships in UK
UK universities/institutions and the Government offers an extensive range of scholarships and bursaries for the international students. It is open for all the prospective students pursuing full-time study program irrespective of any stream, at most levels. There are various sources of financial aid for international students that provide great opportunity to purse your education in UK.
Students in UK will be offered scholarships from the respective universities as deduction in their tuition fee. Other than this, students will be awarded other forms of aid/scholarships based on their academic excellence and background. These scholarship programmes and other funding will be managed by the British Council and other associated organizations.
Apart from University support, there are also relatively some public and private scholarships programmes, which intend to provide financial support for the international students.
UK Government Scholarships
Chevening Scholarships
The Chevening UK Scholarships is the flagship scholarship scheme of the British Government. Every year, 1000 scholarships are given to exceptional international students who wants undertake postgraduate study at UK Universities.
Commonwealth Scholarships
The Commonwealth Scholarships are targeted to students from developing Commonwealth countries who wants to pursue Master’s, PhD, and split-site (PhD) study in the UK. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme
The Shared Scholarship Scheme is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (with funding from DFID), and UK universities, to support scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries who wants to pursue postgraduate studies at UK Universities towards the development of their home countries.

The Cardiff University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught (Masters) and Postgraduate Research (PhD) International Scholarships to international students from all over the world.
Developing Solutions Scholarships at Nottingham University
The Developing Solution Scholarships are for international students who wants to make a difference to the development of their home country. 105 scholarships are available for selected Master’s Degree Programmes.
University of Birmingham Scholarships for International Students

Weidenfeld Scholarships at University of Oxford

Clarendon Scholarships at University of Oxford
The Clarendon Scholarships are the University’s flagship scholarship scheme. The scholarships are awarded to students pursuing their postgraduate studies at University of Oxford.
Reach Oxford Undergraduate Scholarships
A number of Oxford Colleges offer Reach Oxford Scholarships to students from developing countries who cannot pursue a degree in their own countries. The scholarships are for international students wishing to pursue an undergraduate degree at Oxford University.
Additionally, there are two more scholarship programs, details of which are given below:
Technical Co-operation Training (TCT)
This programme is funded by the Department For International Development (DFID), a part of UK government to nurture human resource to aid the students from undeveloped and developing countries by providing local training facilities. It is a training session rather than a scholarship programme, which is allied to other forms of support from UK government. Every year TCT awards around 4000 students for their training accomplishment. Training is normally at the post-graduate level, with the duration ranging between 3 months to 3 years. It is available in a broad variety of Social and Technical subjects. It also covers the entire cost of the students akin to, traveling and living expenses, tuition fees, clothing and study material.
Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships
This scholarship program is launched by St John’s College, in the name of Dr. Manmohan Singh (Honorary Fellow of the college). It is awarded for the Indian students studying doctoral research degree from St John’s College, University of Cambridge. This scholarship assists students to cover costs like, Tuition Fees, Monthly Stipend, Traveling Costs (airfare).
